My MX5 is getting a new top (Sonnenland), my collegues MX5 only needs a new Window (plastic). My "old" plastic window is still OK, nice and clear, no cracks.
Is it possible to change his rear-flap (with window) with my old flap?
(answer in german is OK, I do understand german (speak it aswell) but to write....)

13Yes it is possible just to change the rear part of the soft-top.
The rear-part can even be ordered seperatly at Mazda. I had to do it after my rear window cracked on my previous MX-5.

How did you work with the zipper, I mean it's sealed to the top inself...

in 33 Posts 13One part is sealed to the roof, the other part to the flap. The part sealed on the roof stays where it is.
I did not change the flap myself, the dealer did it as the insurance paid the repair.
