    VDO instruments

I would like to put three VDO instruments in place of the horrible digital clock in my NB.

    1) If I get a turbo, one will be the turbo pressure meter. On the IL site this seems to go from 0 to 3 bar. How much use is anything above 1 bar ?

    2) Do the instruments come with the necessary sensors ? For example, does the external temperature meter come with a thermometer... and instructions ?

    3) I don't like too much chrome in my interior (this is a "Miracle" model, all wood and leather). Does anyone have an idea for a good support for these instruments ? A simple piece of black plastic would probably be OK.

Thanks (and apologies, as usual, for not writing in German, which I can read but not write).

depends on your turbo, I'd say

They come with instructions, but a sender is not always included. The external temperature meter comes with the sender, while the oil temp meter does not (which is sensible as the oil temp sender will vary depending on the car).

I'd recommend getting a standard plastic cover for the radio slot from your favourite Mazda dealer and cutting the three 52mm holes in it. The cover should be available for free as the dealer throws them away anyway when installing a radio. You'd rather get a spare one to practice hole cutting

    Have fun!

    RE: VDO instruments

Thanks. My Mazda garage normally gives the piece of plastic back to the owner of the car but they said they'd try and keep one back for me.

I still think it's a hell of a turbo that boosts by 3 bar
